Custom Website Pricing: ¥5,000 and ¥500 a Year
October 16, 2026 · Products
AI coding has reached the point where a few hundred yuan of tokens can put a passable website online, and template vendors will happily build you one for even less. So why does our pricing for an independent website start at ¥5,000, with maintenance at ¥500 a year? Because both numbers are honest math. This post shows the work.
TL;DR:
- Website development is ¥500 per page; a full WordPress site package starts at ¥5,000, all public.
- ¥5,000 covers roughly ten working days of custom work, revised until you are satisfied. No markup for mystery.
- Maintenance starts at ¥500 a year, under one rule: no service, no fee.
- Your server and domain live in your own accounts, the code is delivered to you, and you can take it to anyone, any time.
The Price List, Up Front
Our services page publishes the full price list; here are the parts that concern an independent website:
| Item | What it covers | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Website development | Design through launch, delivered per page | ¥500 / page |
| WordPress website | Full package delivery | from ¥5,000 |
| Post-launch support | Unlimited revisions in the first month, 3 major revisions within a year | included |
| Maintenance (non-commercial) | Upkeep for personal or non-commercial sites | from ¥500 / year |
| Maintenance (commercial) | Upkeep for business sites | from ¥1,000 / year |
| Full hosting | Server and domain managed for you | from ¥3,000 / year |
Sign maintenance on the day your site ships and it is free until the end of that year; paid terms start the following year. The only costs outside this table are third-party fees for the server and the domain, which you pay directly, or we can bundle them into the total.
AI Can Build a Site for Pocket Change. Custom Work Still Costs.
Let's concede the fact first. AI coding is genuinely good now: give it an afternoon and a few hundred yuan of tokens, and it will produce a site with complete pages and passable typography. Templates push this down to a few hundred yuan outright; pick a ready-made skin, swap in your logo and copy, and it ships the same day.
That is not the job we take on. A template is one design sold to as many buyers as possible, and your site differs from everyone else's by a single logo. What we do is custom work: the front end is designed around your business and your taste, the features are built around your workflow, and the result is one of a kind, in the literal sense of the words "your website."
Custom also means revision. During development we iterate on your feedback; after delivery, revisions are unlimited for the first month and you hold 3 major-revision credits for the first year, all inside the ¥5,000. That said, we do turn down clients who stall arbitrarily or reverse course for its own sake. Direction can be discussed and details can be polished, but treating custom work as infinite trial and error wastes everyone's time.
¥5,000 Is Not a Premium. It Is Ten Days of Work.
Break the ¥5,000 apart and the math is simple. Building an independent website properly takes about ten full working days of requirement discussions, page design, front-end implementation, feature debugging, and launch verification. We price our own labor at ¥500 per day; 500 times 10 is 5,000. That is the entire pricing logic. We charge for the work, and nothing else.
Ten days is enough because starting up costs no time. Every WordPress site we build begins from the same internal template: environment, plugins, and security defaults ship out of the box, so all ten days go into the design and features that belong only to you. In practice many projects run past ten days anyway; scoping debates, taste calibration, and detail rework routinely push the real investment beyond that, and we do not bill the difference.
The gap between a few hundred yuan and ¥5,000 is, in the end, a gap in effort. A few hundred yuan buys a template and an hour of deployment; ¥5,000 buys ten days of craft dedicated to you alone. Whether you want "a website" or "a website that feels like yours" decides which price makes sense.
Maintenance at ¥500 a Year
The maintenance price tag gets a double take. Non-commercial sites start at ¥500 a year, commercial sites at ¥1,000 with the first year also just ¥500, and full hosting (server and domain included) at ¥3,000 a year. ¥500 is about the price of a nice dinner, and it covers a year of service and upkeep plus several rounds of page updates.
We can price it this low for one reason: these tasks are genuinely not hard for us. Patching, verifying backups, renewing certificates, we have done all of it many times over, and fluency is itself a cost advantage. Maintenance should be neither a dark art nor a fixed expense that grows every year for something you cannot name.
If you like, we will even teach you the upkeep routines, hands on, at no extra charge. Once you know them, the small daily tasks are yours to handle, and we consider that a good outcome.
No Service, No Fee
The industry's default maintenance contract is an annual prepayment: renew first, whether or not anything happened this year. We run it in reverse, under one rule. No service, no fee.
When a maintenance term ends and you never needed us, we do not ask you to pay for the next year, and we will not, until the next time you come to us for help. Money for services that never happened is not money we ask for. The idea underneath is the same one behind every number on this page: we do not want to lock you in, and we do not want you paying, year after year, for something that may never return anything. The years you don't need us are the years you don't pay.
Your Server, Your Domain, Your Code
One last line on the price list is ours to charge for your assets, and it reads zero. The server is bought under your own account, the domain is registered in your own name, third-party fees are paid by you directly, and the code and database are handed over in full.
This means you can switch developers or maintenance providers at any time, including switching away from us. Your website is your asset, not our collateral; that should be the default premise of every website engagement, and we simply do not hide it. Our earlier piece on the ten questions to ask before hiring a website vendor lists the full self-check, domain ownership and source-code delivery included, and it is worth reading before you sign with anyone.
Clients who would rather not think about infrastructure at all can choose full hosting, server and domain managed together from ¥3,000 a year. But that is a convenience for busy people, not a requirement, and the choice stays yours.
Websites Keep Getting Cheaper. Yours Shouldn't.
AI will keep pushing down the cost of producing "a website," and templates will keep pushing it toward a few hundred yuan. That is a good thing, and we welcome it. The cost of producing "your website" has not moved: understanding your business takes time, landing your taste on every page takes time, and standing behind the site after launch takes more. ¥5,000 has never bought lines of code; it buys ten days of attention that belongs to one project, yours. We price by this logic, and we work by it too.
