create-arsh-electron: Electron, one command away

create-arsh-electron shipped to npm today. It answers a narrow question: it's 2026 — why should starting an Electron desktop app still mean installing a scaffold and then fixing a round of build config?

What it is: an Electron project that's right out of the box

One command gets you a complete Electron 42 + Vite 8 + React 19 + TypeScript 6 + Tailwind CSS 4 project, plus:

• A frameless window with a hand-rolled title bar (minimize / maximize / close, optional pin) and 8 common UI primitives with CSS-variable theming — the layer every desktop project otherwise rewrites;
• A vitest baseline and GitHub Actions CI: lint, typecheck and tests run automatically on push/PR;
• Packaging fixes built in: build outputs cleaned every run, a dependencies/devDependencies split, Electron binary mirrors, a complete .gitignore, and git initialized with a first commit.

Naming is derived too: my-app becomes productName MyApp and appId com.arshdelight.myapp (--scope overrides the prefix), with author pulled from your git config — the YourAppID / YourAppName placeholders you'd hunt down in the official scaffold don't exist here.

The numbers

Measured on Windows 11 / Node 24: scaffold in 0.5s, npm install in 7.5s, npm run build end to end in 35.2s producing a 97.7 MB installer, app.asar at 0.26 MB, bundled tests 3/3 passing.

1. npm create arsh-electron@latest my-app (Node ≥ 20.11; two prompts — project name, git init or not)
